About Maldives

Leave the everyday behind

The Maldives is not a destination you rush through. Scattered across the Indian Ocean, its coral islands offer a rare sense of space, privacy and simplicity.

A seaplane over turquoise atolls. Barefoot mornings by the water. An afternoon beneath the surface, exploring a living reef. Dinner on a quiet stretch of sand as the sun disappears into the horizon.

It is this simplicity that makes the Maldives so compelling. Nothing competes for your attention. The sea, the landscape and the moment are enough.

CinemaTrip brings together the islands and experiences that capture this feeling — from intimate stays and private escapes to the small moments that make a journey worth remembering.

Just a short journey from Dubai, the Maldives offers the kind of escape where there is nowhere else you need to be.

Questions

Before you book

Ask about Maldives
Do you offer Maldives holiday packages from Dubai?

Yes, and we build each one to order rather than selling a fixed package. You tell us the dates, who is travelling and the standard you want; we plan the island, the villa category, the board basis and the transfer, and come back with a full itinerary and a price in AED.

Are Maldives honeymoon packages from Dubai different?

In practice yes. Honeymoons usually mean a water villa with a pool, a later transfer so you arrive rested, and at least one private dinner — a sandbank or a sunset sail. Tell us it is a honeymoon when you enquire and we plan around those rather than adding them afterwards.

How long is the flight, and how many nights should we book?

Malé is 4h 15m non-stop from Dubai. Five nights is the shortest stay that feels worth the transfer once you allow for the seaplane schedule; seven is the common booking. November to April is the dry north-east monsoon and the busiest window.

Which atoll should we choose?

North and South Malé are closest and reached by speedboat, which keeps transfer costs down. Baa Atoll is the UNESCO biosphere with the manta aggregation. Ari Atoll is the whale-shark region. We match the atoll to what matters most to you.

Is a seaplane transfer always necessary?

No. Resorts within about 45 minutes of Malé use speedboats, which run at night and cost considerably less. Seaplanes only operate in daylight, so a late arrival into Malé may mean an overnight in the capital.
