About this trip
The same landscape as the other Almaty packages, arranged for two people rather than a group. A professional photoshoot on the mountain at Shymbulak, a limousine and a bottle of champagne on the Kok Tobe evening, and a leisure day before you fly.
It reaches Big Almaty Lake and the Alma-Arasan gorge on the fourth day, with the Ayusai visitor centre and waterfalls, then finishes in the Green Bazaar and the Rakhat chocolate shop. It does not go to Charyn or Kolsai — if you want those, take the Charyn Canyon or Kolsai Overnight package instead.

Shymbulak and the photoshoot

Three stages of gondola into the Tien Shan, to 3,200 metres. Ski slopes, walking trails and one of the highest hotels in the world at the top of the lift.
Couple photoshoot
Two hours with a professional photographer at a location chosen for how it reads on camera.
Panfilov Promenade and Arbat Street
Arbat for the artists, the buskers and the small shops; Panfilov for the quieter walk under the trees past the monuments.

Cable car to the highest point in the city for the hour the light goes. There is a park at the top, amusement rides, the Beatles monument, and restaurants that are worth the trip on their own.

Big Almaty Lake, Alma-Arasan and the Green Bazaar

An alpine reservoir ringed by peaks, then down into the Alma-Arasan gorge — river, pine slopes and walking. The Ayusai visitor centre on the way has marked trails and its own waterfalls.

Green Bazaar and the Rakhat chocolate shop
The bazaar near Panfilov Park is the city's best hour — spice, herbs, arguing traders, whole aisles of things you cannot name. Rakhat's factory shop is next door and sells what it makes.
